Thomas Oltarzewski is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music. “Winter Scenes” was commissioned by the Lyra Society of Philadelphia as part of the 2013 Lyra Society Award in honor of Marilyn Costello. She was former principal harpist of the Philadelphia Orchestra and professor of harp at Curtis.
