Brandon Walker is an award-winning, creative, and versatile composer, multi-instrumentalist, recording producer, engineer, and supervising sound editor with over 40 years of experience in classical, jazz, and popular genres as well and film and television soundtracks. Brandon is an Associate Composer Member of the Canadian Music Centre, member of the Canadian League of Composers, Screen Composers Guild of Canada, American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers, and a writer/publisher with the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.

Currently, Brandon is writing and recording for two of his own projects, entitled “Symphonic Sounds” and “Fats Squared: the Music of Fats Waller and Fats Domino.” Other projects in progress include the publication of chamber works and the production of original music demos with StaffPad music software.

Brandon is a 2020 Niagara Music Award winner for “Best Producer of the Year”, recognizing work with Niagara Music Jazz Artist Award winner, The Jimmy Stahl Big Band. His compositions have won multiple awards in 2019 & 2020, including contests with The Brazosport Symphony Orchestra, Reno Pops Orchestra, as well as The Professional Composers Forum. In July 2020, Brandon was a featured artist on the CAMÕES TV program, “Stella’s Studio”.

Other career highlights include eight Golden Reel Award Nominations as well as the winner of a Gemini and two Directors Guild of Canada Awards. As a writer and a publisher with ASCAP, his compositions have been heard on National Public Radio, KUSC, JazzFM, and many other radio stations across North America as well as on television.

Brandon performs saxophone and piano regularly with various groups. Festivals performed include the Playboy Jazz, Toronto Beaches, and TD Jazz Festivals. In addition to his solo albums, “The Hollywood Jazz Collective” and “My Song to You”, Brandon has been featured with many groups and projects, including the Jazz Connection Big Band, KW Dixieland Allstars, Swingin’ Deacons, Ragwax, Blunt Objects, Men of Jazz Octet, and George Grosman with Bohemian Swing. He has shared the stage with “The Tubes” and performed with artists such as Alex Pangman, Dave Boyer, Mike Malone, Tamir Hendelman, Eldad Tarmu, and Jason Louge. As a supervising sound editor, Brandon has worked with composers Michael Giacchino and Tyler Bates, mega-stars Mariah Carey, Marlon Brando, Scarlett Johansson, and Eva Mendes.

Brandon received his Bachelors in Music, Jazz Studies at the University of Southern California, graduating Pi Kappa Lambda and earned his Certificate in Film Scoring from the University of California Los Angeles. He has studied with renowned saxophonists Bob Sheppard, Kim Richmond, Eric Marienthal, and Douglas Masek. Further studies have included pianists Lloyd Herbert and Milcho Leviev, as well as composers Morten Lauridsen and Don Ray. Brandon has participated in Isomata Idyllwild Music Workshops with LA Winds conductor Stephan Piazza and produced music multiple years for USC’s Songfest, the largest student-run musical in the United States.

In addition to musical studies, Brandon has previously received certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and has extensive experience working in Project Management and Project Controls.

In the 1990’s Brandon was a founding member of the Los Angeles rock group, To The Sky. Managed by Wings drummer Denny Seiwell, the creative and high-energy group performed at renowned venues such as the Whisky, Roxy, and the Troubadour.
