Alondra Vega-Zaldivar recently graduated from MMus in Composition at the University of Western Ontario with her Thesis Sophie: a Music Drama for solo soprano and chamber orchestra. In 2014 three of her pieces were performed: String Quartet Lyra at Orford, Quebec; Luna for Soprano, Cello and piano, in Milna Croatia; and Rise of the Cuban Cicadas for Harp and Percussion in Toronto. In 2015 Alondra Attended the Summer Composition Intensive in Indiana and her mini opera A Ghostly Tableau was premiered in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
This year Alondra was selected a finalist for the Costello Composition Prize organized by the Lyra Society organization.
