Ancient Rituals, Distant Landscapes

Winner of Special Prize, 2nd Fukui International Harp Music Awards Competition. Ancient myths from many cultures are often filled with images of both incomparable beauty and unimaginable pain. This work of music is meant to portray some of the unreal beauty of such mythic places as the Garden of Eden (the “Distant Landscapes”), contrasted with the fearsomeness, awe, and dread of those “Ancient Rituals.”
